Educators are encouraged to take advantage of Spring Lake Park to provide educational programs promoting conservation and an appreciation for nature.   

This extraordinary park provides a laboratory for educators to introduce their students to the wonders of nature through the teaching of biology, geology, history, art, geometry, creative writing, and other classes.

The Towering Tree

Streator area educators are awed by a towering cottonwood tree at Spring Lake in Streator. The teachers toured the park on Thursday, led by volunteers with the Spring Lake Project, to become more familiar with the area and how it could be used to provide educational opportunities for students.
